Here's my curated list of games that actually hit different when you're high!

The Manifestation Circle This is my absolute favorite way to start the year. Everyone takes a hit and writes down their wildest dream for 2025 anonymously. Mix them up, pass them around, and each person has to pitch that dream to the group as if it's their own passion project. The plot twist? You have to fully commit to the bit - give us the business plan, the aesthetic vision board moment, everything. It's hilarious watching your friend who works in accounting suddenly pitch their dreams of becoming a professional mermaid, but it also gets surprisingly deep. Plus, sometimes the fake pitch ends up being better than what the original person wrote.

Sensory Experience Box Prepare a box filled with various items that stimulate the senses (e.g., scented candles, textured fabrics, unique flavors). Players take turns reaching into the box without looking and must describe what they feel or smell while others guess what it is. This game encourages sensory exploration and discussion.

Alternate Reality Everyone takes a hit and has to describe their parallel universe 2024 - but make it unhinged. What would your life be like if you made the worst possible decision at every turning point this year? The group votes on whose alternate reality should be turned into a Netflix series. Winner gets to assign smoke tricks to the group.

Stoner Soundtrack Create a collaborative playlist where each person adds their favorite song that resonates with their high state or evokes specific memories. After building the playlist, take turns sharing why each song was chosen and its significance, creating a rich tapestry of shared musical experiences.

Memory Unlocked This one's perfect for friend groups with history. Everyone writes down their favorite memory from 2024 involving someone else in the circle, but you have to describe it in the most dramatic, reality TV confessional style possible. The more main character energy, the better. The group has to guess who and what moment you're talking about. Bonus points if you nail the "in my confessional era" voice.

More tips:
- Create a specific playlist for each game (your future high self will thank you)
- Keep some bougie snacks within reach (nothing kills game momentum like a munchies emergency)
- Have some backup activity ideas ready in case the group energy shifts

The key to a great NYE smoke circle isn't just about the games - it's about reading the room and knowing when to switch things up. If people are getting too in their heads about the roast session, pivot to something more chill. If the manifestation circle is getting too deep, throw in a stoner soundtrack.
