Ask a Stoner ~ How To Use Cannabis To Beat Seasonal Blues

So, feeling those winter vibes a bit too much, huh? Totally get it.

Hanging out with your squad and embracing the outdoors is key for keeping your mental game strong, especially when things get stressful or SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) kicks in. Choosing to chill with your crew isn't just about boosting your mood—it's about building that tight-knit community and support network that's so important, you know?

Another thing - spending too much time solo indoors, especially if you're toking up, can seriously mess with your headspace. Yeah, it might give you a temporary high, but trust me, the long-term effects aren't worth it for your mental wellness.

So, while we explore your options, remember that set & setting are the most important.
With that being said - get dressed, get outside, and let’s talk cannabis:

Mood-Boosting Strains:
First things first - strains. If you wanna combat seasonal blues, choosing the right strain is key. You want something uplifting. Think Jack Herer, Sour Diesel, or Green Crack. These beauties are known for their euphoric effects.

Think Terpenes:
Among the over 150 terpenes found in cannabis, there are three that are both extremely prevalent and known to have powerful therapeutic effects on medical patients struggling with anxiety and mental trauma: Limonene, Caryophyllene, and Mercene.

Sunshine and Cannabis:
Sunshine + Sunshine OG? Now, it’s a plan. Did you know that sun-grown cannabis has more potent effects than cannabis grown in closed grows? Combine that with ocean air and what do you get? Best.Strain.Ever.

Cannabis Self-Care Rituals:
Time to pamper yourself, darling. Treat yourself to a chill bath with a THC bath bomb or get those knots out with some cannabis-infused lotion. Or just vibe out with some meditation. Whatever floats your boat, adding a little cannabis will have you feeling like royalty.

Mindful Consumption:
Listen up, fam. Enjoy the green, but do it responsibly. Don't go overboard. Listen to your body, know your limits, and when it's time to take a breather. Trust me, moderation is key.

Reach Out for Help:
It's cool to not be cool sometimes. Life throws curveballs, and it’s normal to feel off. However, if those feelings start to weigh heavily on you, it's time to reach out for some support. Talking to a therapist or a licensed pro can give you the tools to deal with tough times. Remember, you don't have to go through this alone, and asking for help is a first step.

Disclaimer:
While I do deeply believe in the healing powers of plant medicine like weed and mushrooms, I want to make a disclaimer while talking about mental health: weed is not a substitute to your routine— it’s an addition. Don’t abandon the rest of your mental health care routine entirely, because it could worsen feelings and symptoms of depression and isolation.

There you go, my fellow plant-enthusiasts. It's all part of the rollercoaster ride we call life. So, if you ever find yourself feeling like you're stuck in the spin cycle of the washing machine, don't hesitate to reach out for a helping hand. Whether it's a chat with a therapist, a heart-to-heart with a friend, or simply indulging in some self-care, know that you're not alone on this wild ride.

We’re all in this together.
