Ask A Stoner ~ Cannabis and Digital Detox - Unplugging in the Modern World

Hey there!

First things first, it's vital to recognize digital detox is essential. I learned this the hard way after 9 months of quarantine and back to back to back (...) Zoom calls. It’s a new problem and it needs to be taken seriously! World Mental Health Day is a gentle reminder to check on yourself and your friends tomorrow.

During your detox week, keep your screens out of sight. Try good old-fashioned activities like reading a book or painting. If you’re too much of a nerd and can’t live without your games and gossip news - try to set clear boundaries: Designate specific times of the day for checking emails and social media.

Let your friends, family, and colleagues know about your digital detox plan, so they understand when you won't be immediately available. This will help reduce the pressure of being constantly connected.

On World Mental Health Day tomorrow, spend some time outdoors. Take a hike, practice yoga in the park, or simply sit in your garden and soak in the beauty around you. If you’re too ADD for this kind of stuff, cannabis can definitely help enhance the experience!

Take those happy cabbage goodies with you and explore the great outdoors. Whether it's hiking, camping, or just chilling in a park, nature has a magical way of rejuvenating your spirit. Trust me, you won’t feel any better after a week of Netflix binge watching while high.

Tech-Free Zones:

Create tech-free zones in your home. Your bedroom, for example, should be a sanctuary free from screens. Avoid using your phone or computer at least an hour before bedtime to improve your sleep quality.

Prioritize Quality Content:

When you do engage with digital content, be mindful of its quality and relevance to your life. Clean up your IG and TikTok follow lists (goes a long way) and curate your online experience to align with your life goals.

“Too much of anything is bad for you”

Cannabis can be a wonderful ally in this journey. Incorporate mindful consumption into your routine. Please don’t get stoned and Doordash food to your bed all week.

Use weed as a tool to calm your mind after a long day - or to enhance other activities. Explore strains that promote relaxation and introspection, like an Indica-dominant variety. There are a lot of amazing Indica gummies made especially for improving sleep.

Next Time - Unplug Gradually:

Going cold turkey isn't always the best approach. Consider a gradual digital detox. Begin by cutting back on non-essential screen time.

In this digital age, it's easy to get lost in the virtual world, but remember that the real magic happens when we unplug and reconnect with ourselves and the world around us. As World Mental Health Day dawns, weed out the bad vibes and call in the new.

Weed can do a lot of things - and one thing we find it particularly helpful with is helping you get back in tune with you. This is your reminder to get rid of anything that no longer serves you and enjoy the present.

Yours truly,

Stoner
